I'm excited to see the rough-legged hawks return for the winter. They are arguably the most attractive buteo, especially in the lightest color phase. This bird gave me 2 hours of close up images as it hunted from a low perch.

Killer image and worthy of opening up the shadows especially in the eye.

Bob, Nice details, really like the background. Wonder if it would be worth cloning out the two limbs on the left so all the focus of the shot would be on the bird landing on a single perch?
