Burrowings Owls

On the first stop in Eastern Oregon we encountered these Burrowing Owls. The Sun barely started to make it over the horizon and clouds intercepted. We did get moments of warm light which really brought out the eyes.

Wide crop works well here as we get to see a bit of habitat/context. The frame does look a bit dark to me. Adding a bit of light might make it pop a bit more. Just an idea....

I like the poses of the birds here. Cropping is a personal thing but to me there seems to be excess empty space at the top which doesn't add much to the overall image. I might have opted for a horizontal presentation.

Nice image.
I like the hint of grass at the top and to me it adds to the environmental aspect of the story.
