Photo taken at Laguna Seca Ranch in South Texas last week.

Nikon D810, 300mm lens, 1.4 TC, 1/2000 sec at f/6.3, ISO 500.

The expanded version has better detail.

Alan, I'm always a bit conflicted between cleaning things up in the photo and presenting a more natural shot.  Thanks for the advice.

Very nice, especially with the cactus behind the perch. Never realized their faces get that pink - so cool. I'm guiding at the Lower Rio Grande Birding Festival next month, so I'll be in your neck of the woods!

I'll be out of town then.  But Ruth Hoyt will be there and I'll ask her to keep an eye out for you.  Hope the weather cooperates.
