Common Merganser portrait

1DX 600 + 2x 1/1600 f8 ISO800

I expected him to surface much farther away, hence the focal length. Did not get a full body shot, but I'll settle for a portrait.

Looks pretty good, Greg. We don't get this close to this species, especially the male.

Great view of his serrated bill. Water surface and drops are beautiful as well.
