Hi everybody!

This guy just flew over me while I was looking in the other direction.  I just had time to press the shutter 3 times.

In the first place, I thought it was a green heron until I realized it was too brown to be that bird...  My first good photo of this species.

Hope you like it!

Very good effort and a lovely background. Would be better to shoot when the bird is flying towards you.

Agreed that the shot is nice but would be better if bird was coming towards you.

I do also agree. But I took what I had the opportunity to shoot.

This is normally the view I see of Bittern.   Sometimes I can find them in the grasses, but usually I just hear them flush and then get a quick shot as they fly away.  It's amazing how fast they fly.  Nice grab.  :-)

Thanks Chris for your comment.  Next time, I will try to turn around and try to shoot it flying at me if such an opportunity happens.  I understand that it would be uncommon to get such a shot.
