Photo taken at Laguna Seca Ranch in South Texas.

Nikon D810, 300mm lens, 1.4 TC, 1/200 sec at f/9.0, ISO 64.

Seen close up, Caracaras are a really pretty bird.

The expanded version shows a little better detail.

Very nice Gene, I like the detail in the dark feathers. The d810 work like a charm with 300 lens,

Nice head angle and detail. I would crop in more on the left and right for a vertical frame.

Beautiful portrait Gene. These guys are a great subject for close-ups like this, as they have beautiful colours and textures and you've brought the details right out.
