At a stopover in Burlington where we caught up with a couple of these extremely rare birds here in Ontario.
I assume they are heading down to Florida for the winter.
Thanks for looking.

Really nice wing stretch pose.Thats great that they made it up to Ontario. Did they breed successfully Karl? Is this a non breeding plumaged adult or a juvenile?

Thanks, Mike.
This is a juvi.
He/she and a sibling were born at Darlington Beach, north shore of Lake Ontario.
It is the first time since 1934.
Interestingly they left Darlington two days apart and met up in Burlington at the beach.

Thanks for these details Karl. That is spectacular to hear. Hope they have safe travels to their overwintering grounds. Maybe they will bring more with them next season. Cheers

Nice background story and lovely image Karl. Beautiful low angle and stretching pose, and the complimentary colours make for a really sweet shot!
