Nice shot Peter. Definitely a tricky subject to shoot and this one looks great. They are a very high contrast subject and keeping those whites in check while retaining detail in the dark blue head feathers can be difficult. This one looks like a good balance.

Very Nice pose and I like the that the perch does not overpower the bird. Could be my monitor but the soft neck feathers look blown to me lacking in detail.
Always a problem when shooting KF unless you shooting an overcast day or just after sun up.
