Killer Karl!!
This is awesome!! The flight angle, light angle and wing position all rock and the details in the larger size are fantastic.
Pretty much as good as it gets. I would love to see some these beauties in my viewfinder someday.
This must have been the frame you remembered seeing on the cameras LCD when you decided to try to recover the deleted files. Well worth it!!

So glad you were able to recover this wonderful shot Karl, it would have been a sin to lose such a fine image. Everything is just perfect with colour, light, detail, exposure, eye contact and that full downsweep of the wings. What's not to love!

Terrific Karl....and everything is fairly believable too...thank you for that! If you did hike the sat on the water I would cut it back just a bit as that would make the bird pop even more from the BG....
