Glossy Ibis in Flight

Glossy Ibis on a day without sun, not so much.  You tend to drive on by. But right now, in breeding plumage when the light hits them just right. It is a stunning sight!


Taken in Central Florida Wildlife area.


Canon 7D Mark II
400mm lens.

Great flight pose to catch the iridescence of the plumage. I think you could have gone a standard horizontal crop here rather than square but that's a matter of personal preference.

Great color on this guy. I'm partial to horizontal crops and I think this shot would work well in the configuration. No chance this bird is getting to get lost in the frame, even if you need to loosen the crop to make it work. Great work!

Really puts the Glossy in this bird. Wonderful shot. Never seen one with such well displayed color.

And the light hit this one "just right" to show off that wonderful iridescence. Good wing and head position with nice detail.
