American Kestral captive

This captive kestral was displayed at Magee Marsh this year. Since he had jesses on, I concentrated on head shots. I'm not sure if there is some blood on the front crown.

D60, 600IS, 1.4x, f11, ISO 200, slight crop, morning light.

Gorgeous bird and photo. The reds look a little darker than what I'm use to seeing on these birds in the west.

I know this guy! I took several frames of him yet none turned out well at all... This is lovely Jim. You've captured a very nice amount of feather detail and the background is beautiful. I love the sharp eye!
