Taken in Newfoundland in July, I could not get real close to these birds while in NL, so I have many oof pictures with bad manual focusing. This one is not one of them :)

Exposure and composition seem spot on, but on my screen it seems very soft. Maybe some USM would help with this.

Very nice interaction of the two birds and an excellent background. A bit of flash might have brought out some more detail in the blacks.

Attila -

Nice interaction between the two. Even with the 600, 2x and the 1.6x of the 10D, a little more reach would be nice.

Attila,

I think that because the focul point of the image is in the energy between the two birds, I would crop in closer removeing some of the top and the right. Fill flash would have helped and a little USM too. The BG is very nice.

I love the exchange between these birds. The crop suggestion was on my mind too.

Very nice!!

These guys sure weren't easy to get near. I think you did well in getting the action and the shot.

Thanks for the comments all.. I was thinking on cropping myself.., but then I decided not to.

I went back and checked other images from that day, now I'm pretty sure I had both the 1.4x and the 2xII stacked for this (I think it would've been out of reach for flash)..

My first reaction is that it seems soft. My second is that they seem to be talking to each other. 8)
