Canon EOS3 100-400 IS on tripod, Provia 100F, cloned some green 'stuff' off the rock and cropped about 20% from top and left.

A wonderful shot, Cheryl!
It pays to wait until both birds are looking in the same direction ... Very well done!

Cheryl:

Beautiful: Very sharp, well composed of the two very similar subjects on the same pose, great job on the exposure of the black feathers. The white rock is hot and I have mixed feelings: In one way I like for the contrast with the black birds but in the other way my eye gets attracted to it (and detracted of the main subjects) because the highlight, may want to burn it a little to see what happens. Congratulations.

Cheryl:

Very nice composition. You couldn't have arranged those two magnificent birds any better. Good texture in the birds, too.
I see Juan has already mentioned burning in those white rocks a bit. That would really help. As it is, they are competing a bit with the birds for the viewer's attention.

Cheryl,

Very nice shot. Having the birds looking in the same direction is a big bonus.

Cheryl, This is great. The DOF is what makes the photo work.

An excellent image! Good DOF makes this image. Of course the composition, lighting and exposure didn't hurt!

Cheryl,

A very nice image, two birds with excellent position and both looking in the same direction. The hot rocks are not a significant issue. I would try a bit more sharpening.

Hi Cheryl,

It's obvious that you have the ability to talk to the birds. How else could one get them to pose so nicely and look in the same direction?

Seriously, this is a terrific shot. As others have mentioned the white rocks could stand to be toned down a tad, but I still think it is great just the way it is.

Excellent exposure! Excellent color and details and a nice composition for this pair. Very well done. I might consider zapping that R rock to tone down the lightness.
