Palm Warbler

I was waiting for the nesting Hawks to show up at the nest at Shark Valley, I had my lens wide open for maximum speed when this morsel saw this caterpillar walking on the grass and immediately proceeded to jump him, I was surprised that he proceeded to the railing with this mega catch, he/she could barely fly to the fence with it, He/she pecked at it a few times, not knowing how to proceed with such a large meal, All this was not lost to the other warbler who came running to share on the feast, The original warbler headed straight to the bushes with uninvited guest in tow!!!
I know the DOF is paper thin and that the perch is not ideal, still due to his determination he/she deserves to be posted!!!
Any and all comments welcome!!!

This photo really shows what F2.8 looks like as in the DOF. Interesting shot. Great action.

Alex -

I haven't seen many little bird pics from you, and this is a nice one. Great catch for you and the warbler.

That worm looks kind of like the goose droppings at Jamaica Bay!

Alex,
This guy is either an optimist or is planning on sharing his lunch with several friends. Good catch.

Alex,

I agree, with a heart this big and apparently an appetite to match, the post was well deserved.

This was certainly worth shooting. It's not often that you find such a little bird with such a big catch. Looks like he's going to invite 20 of his closest friends for lunch. Excellent as always.
