Please be kind. I'm not a bird shooter. :) Taken a few years ago when I had 35mm. I could get pretty close to them too.

Ken,

The colors in this image complement this bird nicely! Well done!

Hi Ken. I am so envious. I find these to be one of the prettiest birds yet they never allow close approach around here. For not being a bird shooter you must have the approach technique down! While the background branches are a bit of a distraction, and the bird's colors look a little overdone from here, I think you choose well with your diagonal composition. The semi-stripped BG is interesting... Is it a brick wall?

If it was a bit sharper, I cropped so the tail from the bird above isn't in the image and from the right. We can make a bird photographer of you yet. Love the colors. I'm not sure about the yellow behind the bird's head.

Ken,

This has a nice feel to it. I don't think the Velvia film is helping you here. When you have some blacks and whites in the image, the Velvia can make it more contrasty, as in the case here. Some cropped off the top would help too. Overall a nice photo.

Ken, the last thing you want is people to be kind, you want the truth for it will set you free!!!
This is one of the loveliest birds around, as presented the whites have been over exposed and the image per say is utterly contrasty, a tad soft and the colors appear smudged on the bird!!, the perch and catchlite are nice!! 8)

The light is good and the bird's body position is good too. The yellow thing behind his head is a bit bothersome and croppiong from the top to eliminate the tail of the other bird would help this to the next level.

Cool...

Despite the need for a touch more sharpening, I love this shot!!! Cedar Waxwings are some of my favorite birds...

Thanks, This was shot a while ago and it was scanned with the old Microtek scanner. Not the new good Polaroid 120. So it could be improved...

Ken, Alex and Alan have given you good advice. Despite its few faults, however, the image is very nice.

Ken ... Beautiful bird. I personally like the branch and all the color that it brings to the image. The pose is great and I think overall VERY nicely done. The only thing that I would change would be to crop a bit more off the top(to get rid of the other birds tail feathers). Really nice job Ken. :D
