Great Egret and Eggs St. Augustine, FL

This is one of my favorite shots from a short trip to the Alligator Farm back in March on a heavy overcast day. For me, shooting in Florida is such a high... so many birds, so many opportunities for creativity, and the great weather. :) Hopefully, I'll get to live there one day... I hope that you like this one!

Canon 1D, 500IS, 2x, Wimberley/Tripod.

A nice shot from the Alligator Farm. I found even getting clean shots like this of the parents with eggs was challenging - good job here.

Matthew,

A great comp. The egg color is nice but those lores are amazing.

Along with everything else, I really like the composition. The parent is very protective of the eggs.

Well done!

Nice one. The tight close in comp really gives us everything we need to tell the story at the nest. I like it a lot.

Matthew -

I like the composition and the soft light. The eggs really pop. The egrets legs and bill are strong vertical elements, balanced by the mostly horizontal sticks in the nest.

Nice job.
