Greater Roadrunner, Bosque del Apache NWR, New Mexico

Many have seen this before but I have been thinking of Bosque lately, especially with the NSN get-together we have planned, and wanted to post this for the current motif.

EOS 1D, EF 600/4 IS, 2xII TC, 1/1250 @ F11, ISO 400, HSS Fill at -1 2/3

P.S. I need to catch up with this forum!!

Perfect Greg.

Great comp and BG. I like how the bill didn't blow up with the flash. Awesome.

I've only seen this species once as it was scurrying quickly away to avoid being seen. I would be tickled to pieces to just have this view let alone such a great photo. I love the earthy tones, details, and the little inquisitive look as if he's sizing up the situation.
