Oystercatcher

I am not sure if I posted this image before or not, but there it goes, too lazy to look for the original file so I have reworked this one a little for NSN
I spent five days in Helgoland and saw a few Oyster Catchers, none gave me the time of day for the best part of four and a half day, Just prior to our departure we found their hatchery by the airport in the Dunes!!, More Oyster catchers than gulls on that place, by now the sun was up and the best shooting light was gone, I did the best I could with the couple of hours I had to spare!!
Detail somewhere in a CD, somewhere in this house!!!, Sorry!!!
D1x, Raw Format, Lens=400mm afs f/2.8, ISO=125, WB=Auto, No Flash
Aperture priority, No flash!!!
Any and all comments welcome!!

Super shot, Alex. Ideal exposure. Not one nit. I like it even better than your oystercatcher from Alaska.

Alex,

That's a winner. Love that diagonal wing spread. Technically excellent in all regards.

Maybe the best lighting was gone for the day....but that didn't stop you from getting this shot which is fantastic. The detail is excellent and the diagonal makes it an awesome shot. Another Helgoland winner!!!!

Oystercatcher in flight up close with nice pose and nice composition and you're complaining about the light? Aren't you being a bit greedy? ;)

An excellent image! I think the light through the wings really adds to the image.

Alex, this is clean as can be, with exposure and sharpness beyond reproach.
