Or Blyth's Frogmouth if you prefer the recent split. A female. This is not a big bird at 23 cm. I was really lucky to find this one low and open just before sunrise.

Hi Jim,

This image is full frame and was shot in portrait orientation, but she held her tail at an angle. With such thin depth of field it was too out of focus and I had to crop it off.

No doubt that this bird is nocturnal with those huge eyes! Reminds me of an owl. Sure is cute, and has really pretty feather patterns. Sweet shot.
