Hello, everyone.
I took the advice offered on my last Downy Woodpecker post, this time waiting until she was showing more of her back feathers, and also looking back over her shoulder. This was taken about an hour after sunrise.

Equipment: 10D, 600mm f/4, ballhead and window mount. ISO 200, 1/810 at f/8. Cropped a little bit from all sides.

Thanks for looking, and all comments and critiques are welcome.

Tom,

This is very nice. The light and BG are really sweet. Good job on the exposure.

Exposure of the whites and blacks looks pretty good. I think cropping a bit off the top mught make for a stronger composition but I realize you were probably trying to preserve the greenery.

Great job! The light is wonderful and I love the perch with distant, out of focus background here.

Bird, perch and background come together nicely here. My preference would be to have the bird a bit higher in the frame.

Tom,
Very nice image of a bird that I find surprisingly difficult to photograph. I particularly like the brown and green mullein weed perch but would also like to see the bird a bit higher in the frame or, if not, cropped a bit on top.

I'll go with E.J. on the framing. Still this came together nicely. :)

I like this one better than your last one. I do agree about the crop from the top.
