This is an hybrid between a Great Green and Scarlet Macaw. Taken in Costa Rica at a free flight breeding center. They occassionally mix when they are forced into the same location , but not in the wild since their habitats are separate. I think the hybrid is a beautiful bird, but since it does not happen in the wild, as far as I know, they are not recognized. As it was related to me there may be 20 or 30 of these that exist. That information may not be correct, but seems logical.

This is perfect. Aside from the obvious beauty of the bird and the background, you have great detail from the whites in the face all the way through to the blacks in the bill.
