Oh yes..and cloudy/dreary days are best as well, especially if the wind is out of the east.

If it is out of the north that is OK too but those sleepy southern winds that create dead calm waters are not ideal.

When the osprey are not there you can usually find cormorants, gulls, terns and shearwaters.

They tend to be weary when the bluefish are active, and that can be often. Hard to tell if they are blues or weakies sometimes though especially in the early AM hrs

I was there on Friday morning and I did see a pair but unfortunately they were on the other side. Steve allowed me on the docks but only cormorants there and a few lingering brandt.

Very surprised to still see the brandt but most have gone. I think they were just a little late Typically by mid March they are gone along with the other wintering ducks
