Hello everyone. It feels like old home week here. Thanks to Greg, E.J. and Heather for this "reincarnation"
Canon 10d(before I trashed it in a fall) + 400/5.6(before I trashed it in the same fall) handheld.

A beautiful shot, Richard. The prominent catchlight is so important. Excellent composition.

I'm sorry about your equipment, but I was even sorrier when I did the same thing to my 1D , 400DO and 2x TC. Alas, $1000 poorer I am probably no wiser.

Sandy,
I guess it "goes with the territory", but I've been out of commission almost one month now(I'm repaired, but not my gear). Hopefully, not much longer.

Lovely shot Richard. The catchlight takes this over the top. I don't feel half as bad about smashing my D30 after reading about your incident. Here's to a speedy repair of your gear!

:) Marvellous and indeed elegant shot. I love the detail in the plumage and even a catchlight. Lovely.

Wow what a tern shot. The catchlight in the eye and exquisite detail in the face and wings makes it real special. I hope you get your equipment back soon!

Good detail and very nice pose. I would have liked it's head to be turned a little more towards the viewer, it gives the image a much more friendlier and relaxed look.

What i like best about this one is the crossed legs - for some reason that put a smile on my face. Nice shot Richard!

Wonderful image. (I first typed "smashing" but ... Sorry to hear about your equipment damage.) The head tilted a bit away here works well for me. With the near wing tip bent back it adds a little more tension to the shot.

(And thanks again for your advice before heading to the Galapagos; we had such a good time that we're heading back in 2005.)

Here's to your full recovery too :)

Very well executed in all aspects. I too get a kick out of the crossed feet.
