What I really like about this image is the green BG. Out here on the La Jolla Cliffs a green BG just isn't possible and it's a color that seems to work very well with the Pelicans.

Excellent image of our brown pelican in breeding plummage, but the colors pale in comparison with those on the pacific coast.

I would love to photograph the Pacific Coast Brown Pelican on day and probaly will but I was glad to get my Florida version looking as good as he gets.

Here is another version of the image where I lasso the 1/3 inch by 1/2 inch white that was on edge. Then I went to SELECT-FEATHER 5/ IMAGE-ADJUST- BRIGHTNESS -15%/ DESELECT.
