Finally some time to post another shot. On our last day at Helgoland Bart and I spend most of our time on flightshots. At first we both had some problems with tracking these birds in flight but after a while we got our hands on it.

Canon EOS10D
Canon EF300/2.8 + EF1.4
1/1600 @ f/8.0 Evaluative -1
RAW ISO200
C1, PS (cropped 5% for better composition)

Excellent exposure, sharpness and framing of the Northern Gannet in flight. I have to go see them for myself sometime soon. :D :D :D

A terrific shot, Japper!
Exposure was right on and the deep blue sea really makes the subject standing out. Looking forward to see more bird shots from Helgoland ...

Japper,

Excellent flight image. This brings back memories of Cape St. Mary's and my one blue sky day.
