Canon 1Ds
Nikon 400mm f/3.5 D with Tamron 2X and Novoflex Adapter
1/320 f/7 ISO 400

Nothing special about this shot except for the equipment used. :-)

Good Light,

Bill

Nothing special ??, Well the light is killer and so is the BG, wonderful bird and tack sharp using magnificent Prime glass, the tonal range is excellent, accurate colors to boot!!!, Many say that the perfect combination is a Canon camera and Nikon Glass, this proves that it can be done in a wonderful way!!! 8) Congrats!!

Ditto on Alex. Congrats. It is difficult to locate this immature Y-C NH in such lighting with such a BG.

Bill, interesting combo on equipment. The image is a little tight but beautifully done.

Lighting is perfect, showing all the varied detail in the feathers. The lateral lines of the BG are neat.

All that hardware and this image is a cut above in clarity and sharpness.

Knowing nothing about the combo, I have to assume no automatic functions are available. How does one set the aperture? Very interesting indeed!

Noel: The 400mm f/3.5 D was made in 1987 or so. It has a manual aperature ring and it is strictly manual focus. I set my camera to aperature priority and it automatically sets the shutter speed. From there it is a matter of focus and good eyeglasses.

Excellent sharp image in grat light. I'd prefer more space for the feet and a little bit more in front as well.
