American Redstart Upper Texas Coast
D1X, 600/4.

Migration is in full force down here on the Texas Coast. This Warbler gets the award for the most jittery bird on the planet.

A really tremendous image. The bird is very well exposed and the setting is wonderful.

I noticed in your slide show on the BBSP trip as well as this picture how you include really pretty foliage, berries, or blooms in your shots. Aside from the technical clarity that I really envy, the settings that you shoot are extremely moving and beautiful.

I hope we can meet again.

KK, they are common in Texas during migration only. Late march thru May.

They can't be any more jittery than the prarie warblers I ran into this week. However, you've captured a tremendous image. I'm amazed on how you guys can get a nice clear shot of these guys. My experience with them is that they don't stay in one place for more than a second...takes me too much time to reset my rig and focus...

Great Alan!! Since I spent a week last year at Pt. Pelee and Magee Marsh I can relate to the Warbler jitters. No pain, no gain!
