This is one of my favourites because (1)It took me a couple of years and many tries to get it. (2)Breeding colours I hadn't seen until I got the film back. (3) Close-up.

I tried for a couple of years to get shots of these birds in this wetland after first seeing them displaying their amazing white puffs of white feathers that develop on their shoulders and the long black neck feathers that can get long enough to flow in the breeze.

EOS A2, 100-400 IS, Sensia II, hand held from van window. Background is really dark blue in the slide.

Killer shot. might just be tempted to crop out the white feathers frame left and see if that makes the image even stronger.
