Brazos Bend Naturescapes trip

I think I wasted some of my dof in front of the subject and lost sharpness on the legs but such is life. The sidelighting helped place his "snack" over a dark area which I think helps it stand out.

Any comments welcome, thanks for looking.

The focus point being where it is places more emphasis on the action. Very nice shot. :)

It was great meeting you last weekend. Too bad I couldn't come out to shoot with y'all on Saturday, as I needed to be at my print show opening.

Andrew, I like the intensity of the bittern!! Getting them in the open is an art unto itself. Very nice!! 8)

To be honest there was an embarassment of bitterns :) Bittern here, bittern there, bittern everywhere .... still that didn't detract from the pleasure of getting so close to and enjoying them. Moral: if you want to shoot American bitterns head on over to Brazos Bend, Alan didn't even have to make any special perches for them :)

Andrew, I would have perfered a lower angle and less sidelighting, but at Brazos, this is the angle we get. The food makes this shot for me.

Its fun to see all the images from this trip.
