where do you find such pretty colorful birds....?

I also have this lens and am wondering if I should be shooting faster film with it...your image is dang sharp.

You have to do a lot of hunting and searching and then be prepared to wait several hours in the hope of catching something like this :D. Once I find what I'm looking for I shoot off as many shots as possible in the shortest period of time because once he's gone...he's gone .

Lovely shot of a lovely bird, but it looks like you did what I used to do with my Cibachrome, that is deliberately make it dark to get more saturated colors. To me, this one is a bit too dark.

Nope...these are pretty much the colors straight out of the camera. Come on down to Florida and I'll show you skies like this every day :) . Here's the original untouched RAW image:
