Out yesterday taking in the great sun and 100's of Snow and Canadian geese flying over as well as a couple of loons on a larger pond. As we started back into town we saw a good bunch of tundra Swans on a good pond for Wader'ng ... but the time was short and the cloud bank was building. Unfortunately just about the time I was close the sun made it's final dip behind the clouds behind me. I have tried to recover this shot of the Swans taking off.

The original was some under exposed and looked some noisy...not sure if it works in my recovery any comments welcome... at the least a good exercise of my PS techniques.

Very nice image of the swans. If there is any nit to pick, it would be the brown hill background cutting into the wing. Your recovery work did pretty good.

Good separartion and timing ... a nice one, Doug!
I'd agree with Steve's comment on the oof hill BG. Wished for a bit more room on the left too.

This has a nice feel to it. The pink in the sky really adds a lot.

Very nice work. Great timing with all the wings down.
Your work in PS seems to have worked.

Exceptional job under tough conditions. It's always a challenge to get a good image of multiple birds as each has to look good with the others. I think the image would have been better without the bottom bird but that's not the opportunity that presented itself here. It doesn't look bad exposure wise to me and I don't see the noise that you're talking about. (I can usually see it in 1D images but I don't here. :) )

The composition is strong here, and I really like the stage in flight of each of these birds, especially their angle. This is a great multi-bird take off shot, good job!

P.S. Special delivery received today, THANK YOU!!! :D
