Canon D10 400 5.6 L Lens plus 25mm Extension tube. f11 1/200 5 550EX flashes (Four to the bird one to the background).

I was visiting Madera Canyon in Southern Arizona trying to practice high speed flash techniques. The whole process is quite a challenge. Hopefully you guys will like this. All comments are appreciated.

Great technique. It looks very well balanced. Was it real BG you flashed or something painted? It all looks really natural. A little tight on the wing tip but the Magnificients take up most of the frame you plan for the others. Well done! I like the flowers too.

Awesome. A little tight on the right, but, that my only nit.

Dynamite image!!! I agree with the minor nit already mentioned. Anyone would be proud to have this image. Thanks for sharing.

Juan,
Very nice shot. Looks like you got the multiflash technique down right. You must have a degree in electrical engineering to figure all that out. The flowers and leaves add a lot to this shot.

Extremely well done and I like the natural background much better than the artificial one you see so often.

(first reaction) WOW!

The lighting and the ability to freeze the subject's motion is great. The onlynitpick I would say is the right is a little bit cramped but it does not destroy the photograph as a whole. I would also like to crop the left off a little bit.

Quite OT: could 550EX command all 5 flashes?

A very sweet shot. Perhaps you might consider cloning a slight more space on the right. YOu have the wing and the background could be expanded easily in PS> I really like the shot and hope for something like this in the future. My hummer shots are lacking in comparison. The BG also is great,

Great photo. Would like a little more room around the bird.

A little tight as others have mentioned but very nice. Good composition and use of flash. Much prefer your more natural background.

Sweet shot, Juan. I'd like a bit more room on top and right side. Looks like you froze the wings with the flash, not with the ss.

Juan,

Very pretty and well done. As the others have pointed out a little tight on the right.

Oh. Maybe that wing tip is under the Slide holder.
These little guys are a lot of fun and not easy to do. I'd take one like this just the way it is. :)

Wow, my only nit was room around the bird and your repost takes care of that! You should put the image tags around it so people can see it in the thread.

Very well done, Juan, this is a lovely shot and my only nit exists no longer. :)
