White Ibis Eudocimus albus

Location: Estero Lagoon, Ft. Myers Beach, FL
Date: April, 2003

Another recycled image as my dry-spell continues. :)
This may or may not qualify for the motif for the week but this White Ibis caught this snake/eel and would throw it into the air and drop it into the water, retrieve it and finally ate it. This was quite entertaining. I hope you like it too.

1V, 600/4 IS, 2X EFII, Gitzo, Wimberley
Cropped ~20% all around.

All comments and critiques are always welcome and appreciated. Thanks for looking.

Looks like a winner to me. Perfect exposure, lovely blue water, sharp, and this shot defines the term decisive moment.. Way to go, congratulations.

Excellent capture, Bill. When I saw the motif, I realized that I don't even have a bird with a fish.....too amazed to get the action. You did a great job with this one. Hope the dry spell ends soon.....I hate that when it happens.

I would say this more than qualifies for the motif! I really like framing of the shot. The water and the rippled reflection amke we want to go to Estero now....

Bill, works with the motif for me! Great catch of the action, especially with the head back. Fantastic colors in this, too.

Bill,
What really got my attention as this image opened was the white of the bird and the beautiful blue water. Well done.

Really cool catch Bill. The ibis shows some talent in his catch too. Excellent light and white bird exposure here.

The timing of this shot is excellent, Bill!
Exposure was right on too ... Was it RDP III that you used for the shot?

An excellent shot, Bill. The action is great. I guess I'm in the minority, but I do not think the reflection adds much to the image. I'd crop from below. Purely a matter of personal taste.

Is an eel a fish? Great exposure on all that white and I do like that action. Well done.
