Anthony Medici's recent Icon Bald Eagle post reminded me of one of my favorite Osprey shots from last year's STL Osprey workshop. This Osprey looks like it could be auditioning for a spot on a U.S. Post Office truck. Better yet, maybe FedEx.

Nikon D1x, Nikon 300/2.8 @ f4.5, 1/1600 sec., ISO 125.

Nice shot that to me depicts the speed and grace of these birds in flight. I like that there is adequate light under the wing to see the detail.

Hey Brett, nice to see you here. This is truly one of my all time favorite osprey images, and I have a few myself :). We did nail'em that day!

Best, and see you soon

Nice capture and you got the underside of the wings and body without any shadows.

Excellent! I like the light on the face and eye and the great view of those huge gaffing hooks trailing behind. You nailed everything in this flight image.

Very nice flight shot. These shaots are hard to get and you nailed this one.

A wee bit tight in the frame and I'm not particularly fond of the frame you've chosen. The osprey is very impressive though. The biggest nit is the frame. :)

Excellent and unusual. The blue sky and great underside detail is not easy to do.

Love the eye, the underwing detail and the close to eye level angle of the shot.
