As others have mentioned, we had 2 days of sunshine. This was one of those rare moments.
Thanks to Charles for all his help.

The sunlight really spruces these Homer images up. This is very well done. For my taste, I would like more on the left and less on the right.

Excellent shot!!

Wonderful light. Do I see a halo around the birds?

Very nice shot. The halo around the birds is an artifact from the shadow/highlight tool. Try dialing down your radius setting, Otherwise, a very fine shot! I'm jealous!

Arnie,

Good to see you posting here in Birds. This is a very nice shot though a tad more room at the bottom would make it better. Also it looks like you went too far with the shadow and highlight tool as the dark parts of the birds are over-lightened and there is a pretty serious halo resulting from the use of the tool. Perhaps a re-process is in order so that we can get the full impact of the photo. If you are having trouble feel free to e-mail me the RAW file and I will process it for you and post it here with step-by-step instructions (I will also delete it from my HD after I am finished).

Thanks again for posting!

Wow, two! I love the hint of mountains in the background. Almost wish they were a little more visible. Doesn't detract from the beauty of the birds, though. A fine image!

Fine shot, Arnie. Great to see you posting. I agree with the comments on the Shadow/Highlight or Curves adjustment and also on more room below and less on the right.

Repost to remove haloing due to shadow/highlight tool
Thanks everyone for their comments. I reduce the radius as suggested and hope that the hao has been removed.

Unfortunately, since this is not a crop I'm unable to add anything to the left and bottom as some of you suggested.

Greg thanks for your kind offer but after zipping the file up the message was still of 9000 kb.

I can't add to the constructive comments, so I'll just say the capture of the two birds on the perch is wonderful! Nice blue sky, too.
