Canon 10D 16-35 L Lens at f14 1/200 ISO 200 Handheld. Fill flash from camera at -2.

I was crawling into the beach trying to get close to this bald eagle to get a "different" environmental portrait. I supported the camera on the gravel and shot up to the eagle and she gave a des-ponding look. Like telling me: What are you doing down there inferior Homo sapiens ??

I hope you enjoy.

This is some big chicken. I wonder where he beefed up. :D
Great shot, I love the way you made use of your wide angle lens and include the second Eagle.

Well done.

Nice forced perspective shot!! I like the mirror image created by the second eagle. :)

This fits the current motif in a kind of whimsical way! Great use of deep DOF. The interplay in the image seems to be between the "large" and "small" eagles. Large, in charge, in the spotlight vs. small, dark, and insignificant.

16-35 lens?!? I guess it's safe to say these eagles aren't particularly frightened by humans? :)

Quite true. No more so than gulls are afraid of Humans. It might be a trait of a scavenger. You have to stand your ground and fight for your food otherwise you don't get to eat.

Wonderful image. I would have prefered the head slightly more towards the camera but this still has a lot of charm to it. I have also thought these birds look a lot like chickens, at least until they start flying.

Some lateral thinking paid off - big time! I like the inclusion of the second bird.
