The composition of this image really pleases me.

I think the composition is wonderful. The colors are vibrant and the feather detail is exceptional. There appear to be a few small hot spots in the head, but a pretty minor nit. I really like the image steve. I never got a chance to get so close to a Brown Pelican during my stay in Florida. Beautiful shot.

Nice comp. The colors are a bit over the top for me but again that's just me.

Excellent composition. The head does look a bit toasty but overall I like this one very much.

Very nice specimen with marvelous color and a great twist of the neck and an apparent matching twist of the wing. What I like most, though, is the eye - looking at something that we can't see.

You gotta love the plumage on those Pacific Brown Pelicans - a very nice shot!

I agree, the composition is neat and I like the curves in this. The head and neck don't seem to have quite the pleasing sharpness that the body does, but it is still a very unique shot and it certainly works for me!

There have been some very creative posts in the forums, this one included, that I find very inspiration. I think you had great vision in making this and in presenting it the way you have.

Love it Steve. I would suggest a bit more DOF as the head looks a bit soft. I have some similar compositions like this and may post one soon.

Wow, you just can't beat the colors of those Pacific Brown Pelicans. Our standard BrownPelicans look good in breeding colors but not as good as those West Coast brids.

Cool curves making an almost spiral composition. Well seen!
I heard you can adjust curves in Photoshop. :D

Have you though about rotating this 90 degrees CW? It would make an interesting perspective.
The eye isn't as sharp as I would like but the composition is definitely intriguing. :)

Steve, I like this! DOn't think I had seen it before. I agre the composition is interesting, and the species lends itself to unusual poses.
