Canon 1D, 500, 2X, incident light meter, sunny 16, PS, clone one branch, cropped from left and a little from the top, USM

The Willet was sitting on this branch and keep leaving and returning. So I set up to get the take off and this is the result.

All comments welcome.

Nice. First time that I've seen a willet in a tree or a bush

What a great shot. I was certainly taken aback when I saw this one....funny how we associate birds with just one type of habitat. A very nice job getting the action.

Great pose and a nice catch of this bird in a different location than usually seen. I think I'd like to see this with the sky darkened a little.

Beautiful shot, Bob. Fill might have been helpful with the shadows. Did you compensate for the whites with your sunny-f16 baseline?

Another Willet off the ground. Great action here - just a bit hot in the whites.

Great catch of this bird in the tree. Most of my tree shots look steep but here it doesn't seem steep at all. The raised wings are such a great bonus!

Great action and perch for a Willet. The contrast seems a bit high on this one.

Overall, very nice. A bit of flash might have brought out a bit of the shadow detail on the breast and the far wing. It's only a minor nit. This is still a nice one! :)

Bob,

Very nice shot. You captured a nice wing flap. The perch is great.
