Whimbrel in Flight

This was taken at Rob Field near the end of the San Diego flood channel which is one of my favorite spots to photograph near San Diego.

Canon 1D 500mm f4 2x, Tripod Ball head Sidekick Leveling head, Manual exposure Sunny 16 1/500 @ f10, Auto focus, Added wing tip to left wing.

This is certaily a striking shot. Focus and exposure is great. Too bad we can't control everything. IMHO wish the beak was directed sideways a little. It would let it be seen and avoid the shadow on the breast. This is still a great shot.

Great one Jimmy. I have seen a lot of Whimbrel near Robb Field. Too bad we couldn't get together. Now lets see more from that Homer trip.
