Marbled Duck Marmaronetta angustirostris
EOS300D, 500F4L IS, 1.4xTCII, iso 400, ev-2/3, 1/400, f6.3, 550EX +BB @ -2/3

Ahh the beauty of digital....it got quite cloudy whilst we were at Slimbridge last weekend, and I was able to up the ISO to keep the shutter speed high enough to keep the ducks sharp. ( They don't half move you know :D ) Although I think this one was shot when a break in the clouds let a little light thru.

Comments welcome and thanks for looking

You guys are killing me with these great ducks from the across the pond! This one is very nice. Just needs a slight head turn and I would take a bit off the right. Maybe to 4x5 format.

Dave, wonderful critter, and well exposed, nice detail and lovely water, nothing like digital to play with the ISO latitudes , Would have love to see a little more Quacker at the expense of the reflection if it must be, just a matter of taste!! Congrats!! 8)

Wonderful shot!! I really like the reflection. A slight head turn and crop off the right for me too.

Cool duck. I agree with Greg and Bill on the head turn. I also would like to see a little more cropped off the right hand side.

Very nice shot. I would prefer the whole duck though.

Dave,

Very nice shot. I like the reflection. A vertical composition would work well also.

Another great duck that I don't have  Very nice shot - I would prefer just a slight head turn.

Dave, what Greg wrote. I would crop almost halfway between the tip of the bill and the right edge of the frame.
