This is a Marbled Godwit I took at Fort DeSoto. There were about 5 of them and they all were pretty cooperative. The light was gorgeous as this was taken around 8am or so in the morning. Early morning sun just rising over the treetops, directly at my back.

Canon Eos10D + 400mm f/5.6 @ f/9.0. 1/800th Sec, ISO200, -2/3 EV. Processed with PS7 + Colorwasher 1.02 + Focalblade 1.0.

I must say after just a few minutes using focalbade, and colorwasher, I am VERY impressed.

Nice shot Chris. I love when these birds preen in front of the camera.

Chris,

Well done. The raised leg is really nice, great detail in the feathers. Thnaks for the comments on Focal Blade, I have been considering it. :D

Very, very nice, Chris. Fabulous leg lift and light is sublime!! I'm seeing artifacts surrounding the bill, but it could be crappy monitor.

Chris,
This is my nemesis bird, as far as photographs are concerned. I would love to have one anywhere as near as nice as this.

Beautiful light and that little strut tops the image off.

Great light and foot position. There is a serious sharpening halo around the bill though.

Great light, slightly ruffled feathers and that raise foot - great timing - make this a wonderful shot.

I might have opened it up a little more. You did pick up great detail in the bird I simply think the background could have been a bit smoother in it's transitions.
