Wow! Killer shot Harvey. Congrats! You may want to consider taking a little off of the bottom. Great as is though.

Harvey,

Nice capture of the action. I agree with Jim on the crop. The light looks like it was high which makes it tough. Good work.

Florida sun is pretty hard to work with. This was shot at about 9:30 AM and the was already pretty harsh.

Nice action Harvey. I just love these White Morphs, especially when in breeding plummage.

Hi Harvey,
Killer shot. These guys are so photogenic, particularly when they are strutting their stuff.

Always a fun birs and a real nice shot - I love the green grass as a background.

Nailed the exposure in difficult light Harvey, excellent technique for sure!

Oh, man....did you ever nail the exposure on this one. I believe this is by far my favorite of all that you've posted. Just outstanding.

Beautiful, Harvey. The modeling light is impressive. A bottom crop would provide better balance. Though I'm not well acquainted with spot metering, I would think you would have added 2/3 EV for a white bird.

Conventional wisdom for film would tell you to overexpose the whites
since your meter is reading shades of grey. This is supposition but this has worked every time with digital and spot metering. I think that a digicam is reading the white balance rather than seeing this totally as shades of grey. The images straight out of camera are always white when I underexpose by 1/3 to 2/3 with spot metering. Try it just for curiousity and see what happens.

Nice catch of the action, I especially like the combination blue and green environment. Getting the foot just as it was coming out of the water with little spashes is a really neat touch!

I'm thinking bit less water and a bunch more green. The bird, pose, exposure and detail are all right on as shown here.
