Between joggers, dog walkers, surfers and fisherman its amazing that all these shore birds can also be found along this one mile of coast in La Jolla. Of course it helps to be there before the sun comes up :D

Like the light, pose and perch - but I don't think that guy's going to be turning any of those stones any time soon. (I'm sorry, I couldn't resist. :roll: ) Bird stands out well against the lighter colored water.

Beautiful shot Niel. I used to go to La Jolla frequently as a kid. I love the rocks and the color of the water. This makes for an incredible backdrop for this Ruddy Turnstone.

Nicely done and well presented. I'm not positive I like the mixed color of the background but I get a good sense that this was overlooking both water and rocks.
