Finally I got a Godwit image.. Taken this afternoon at Jamaica Bay with a few fellow photographers. We had the privilege for a 10-15 minutes of this bird before it had been chased away..

Canon 10D ISO 200 1/800 f8 600mm + 1.4x

Comments welcome..

Nice (slightly differnt) pose. I like the background and lighting looks good. Good work capturing the drops of water.

Nice low angle and nice capture of a slightly comical pose and those drops of water. Might take just a bit off the bottom.

I like the unique perspective here... a lot! The water drops are pretty cool too. I like the crop suggestion as well.

Attila,

Nice shot. I think that if you cropped in more, you would give this more power. The water drops, which make this photo are a little lost in all this space. Love the colors and the low profile.

Great shot.....love the pose and water droplets. You certainly were on his level....what were you doing....treading water and shooting at the same time. Excellent shot!

It was a lot easier than that 8) , a few of us were lying in the mud just at the edge of the water..

Thanks for the comments all.

Very low perspective, I would expect water drops on the front element! The tones in the background are really nice and of course the Godwit is very cool with the spashes.

I'd have fun playing with different shaped crops on this one to see what I could get. There is a lot of negative space and you could have fun seeing how many good images you can crop from this one.
Nice work getting low to get it in the first place.
