(Bald Eagle) Homer, Alaska

This one was taken in early afternoon when the sun was playing "peek a boo". A flight shot taken with a flight lens. :D
(I'm not really sure if this is an icon shot or not. I'm simply trying to attract attention. :) )

Handheld Nikon D1H, 300mm F4.0 AFS, ISO 200, Aperture Priority, 1/1000 @ F5.6. Cropped to about 80% original length.

Tony, you trying to attract attention, no way :D

This is a very nice image showing superb detail throughout the entire tonal scale, and is is sharp as can be. I only would prefer a bit more breathing room around the eagle, but I would rather be close than far away.

Thanks for sharing the image,

Chas

This is an excellent image of an Eagle in flight. There is a very slight sharpening halo on the underside that could easily be removed. Very nice.

Another great one. The pose is excellent and I really like the detail in the face. Halo on the underside is a small thing indeed.

One of your best BE flight shots I've seen, Tony!
Amazing how close you can get to this guy with just a 300 ...

Them darn icon shots :) Kind of an amusing title after reading the landscape forum

As always Tony you nailed it. My only wish would be that the flight feathers on the upper left hand corner were all perfectly in focus.

The Eagle Man!

And after you email Cheryl some, I'm sure you'll still have a few thousand left to email me a couple also! :) And you don't have enough eagles so you're going back to Homer? ROFL!

I've still enjoyed them all. No nits here. Keep bringing 'em on.

Rich

Tony,
450+ posts since 8/17/03! No wonder you have to keep posting these old shots from the bottom of the barrel. You don't have time to take any new shots. :D
Seriously, this is a wonderful shot. I am not tired of your BE's yet.
