Over the shoulder Northern Goshawk

I photographed this northern goshawk this spring while in the area photographing a great horned owl nest. This bird would occasionally come over to check us out and make sure we weren't getting too close to his nest.

EOS 1D, 600, 1.4X at ISO 250

This is a killer shot. That background is fantastic. Some added contrast on the bird may make it pop more, but its awesome as is.

Great shot. It's nice to see the beautiful feathering that this guy has on his back. The sharp eye and beak send it over the top.

Very sweet image! Wish I could see one of these guys in the wild no less even try to photograph one. Splendid work, background is gorgeous as is the entire image. Very nice!

:!: Great work. :D The eye looks slightly softer than the rest of the back but that might simply be the way the shadows are helping define the feathers in the back. :?
