Canon 1D, 400 5.6 +1.4x, ISO 200, F:9, 1/330 sec.

Very nice light indeed. Nice pose on the bird too, and great detail. FWIW the bird seems lacking in color compared to most meadowlarks I've seen, but that could just be the angle. Wish that barbe wire wasn't quite so straight across the bottom of the frame, but I don't know what you could have done about that.

Maybe a little fill flash would'be brought out the colors on the shadowy side. Overall a nice photo.

I am with Mike and Tony on this one, it would have been great to get a different perch. Still, the bird is good, the shadows on the left are okay by me, I love the feather details and the turn of the head. The browns are very striking against the blue background.
