Another resideny bird at the Teddy Roosevelt preserve in Oyster Bay NY. The water on his head is from having sat out in a slight drizzle for a while.
An awesome and beautiful creature, its a great treat to see them that close.Taken with a Nikon F5,200mm Nikkor Macro,SB26 flash and scanned with Nikon scanner

Beautiful bird! The face, particularly around the bill, is either over-exposed or suffering from a hot scan. I would try and tone it down a tad.

A gorgeous bird, and the image is nicely composed. I agree that there is some overexposure in this digital file. And not a huge deal, but it looks like the depth of field was fairly shallow, increasing the depth of field might have brough a few more areas on this bird into sharper focus. But a captivating look at this incredible bird regardless. I hope to see one myself someday.

What a face!!!

Image:
Lovely early morning or late afternoon light in the back of his head, way over flashed , not a function of the scan, water droplets are very nice indeed, a little more DOF would have also been very nice!! Congrats!! 8)
