While on a recent Day in the Field workshop with Charles Glatzer, I had my first opportunity to photograph these birds, along with a lone loon (No -- not Chas!). It was great fun as the birds were fairly cooperative. Here at home it is rare to see these birds, and when I do, they fly off as soon as I approach.
