At Los Ebanos Ranch, Mexico.
Shot from the back of a pickup with a 500, 2Xii, 1.4X and 10D.
Lots of things to make it soft. Add that to the fact that he just took off and I got this shot. I think I was lucky to get it as good as this. I wish the head was as sharp as the claws. Cropped for composition. The wings were clipped, so I clipped them a bit more.

Pretty good capture while shooting with the Mt. Palomar Telescope, I am amazed you got his talons fairly sharp at this FL, wonderful light, perch is a tad cluttered but not bad, but the face on that bird is gorgeous!! Congrats!!
